Join the dBx Acoustics Team

Technician / Trainee Consultant needed to join us in Manchester.

Could you be the next member of the dBx Acoustics team?

We’re looking for a Technician/Trainee Consultant to join the team in our central Manchester office. This role could suit someone at the beginning of their acoustics career, or a more mature applicant looking for a career change.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for noise and vibration surveys and sound insulation testing, basic data analysis and report writing, and ensuring our equipment remains well maintained and in calibration. You’ll be travelling to sites across the UK and should be aware that the role will sometimes require weekend and night time working, and overnight stays.

About You

You’re numerate and literate, and have an interest in acoustics, and the willingness to learn more and develop yourself. You’re able to use your common sense and take the initiative in getting things done – but you also know your limitations and when to seek help.

Most importantly you’ll have an enquiring mind – always looking to learn and understand more about what you do, so that you can do it better!

Your core role at dBx Acoustics will be to carry out noise and vibration surveys and sound insulation testing. Don’t worry if you haven’t done this before, we are happy to provide training for the right person. The consultant team will be reliant on you to provide accurate, useful data and to ensure that surveys are planned and organised efficiently.

You’ll also manage our equipment, keeping an eye on maintenance issues, running internal calibration checks, and sending items for repair or external calibration when needed.

You might want to develop your skills as a consultant, or you may be happy to remain in a technician role – either way we are happy to support you with your ambitions.
